Race
- (1)The race will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the JAAF(Japan Association of Athletics Federations) 2017 and the organizer.
- (2)In principle, athletes should keep to the left of the course route.
- (3)The number bibs must be attached to the chest and the back of the gear of the First Division participants and to the chest(front) of the gear of the Second and the Third Division participants.
- (4)Time will be recorded by automatic clock system. Athletes must attach timing chips as instructed.
- (5)Transfer of rights to participate in the race is strictly prohibited.
- (6)Number bibs and timing chips will be issued only one time and cannot be reissued. Athletes who do not wear number bibs or timing chips will be disqualified.
- (7)Athletes must follow instructions given by the officials in charge, and pay attention to safety throughout the race.
- (8)Athletes who participate in the first division race must not receive support, of any kind, from others during the race.If any of such athletes is provided with drinking water or other supplies by others at a place other than a water station or takes any action that is deemed as receiving support from others, he/she may be disqualified. Such athletes must not receive foods, drinks or other supplies at an unofficial supply station.

Registration(Distribution of number bibs)
- (1)Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 to 20:00 at “Deai Dome” in Gifu Memorial Center.
- (2)Sunday, April 23: Not for Half Marathon. Only for 3-km race, entries will be accepted from 7:00-8:00 at “Fureai Dome”
*The number bibs are color classified as below.(Initial characters of A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K on the bibs represent designated starting blocks assigned to each participant. Make sure to be at the assigned place for the start.) - (3)Those who are late for the registration will not be refunded their participation fees in any case.

Changing Rooms/ Baggage Drop
- (1)Changing rooms will be available for general participants from 6:30 to 14:00 at Budokan/ Martial Arts Stadium inside the office building in Memorial Center(Judo Hall and Physical Education Room for male and Kendo Hall for female). Baggage drop will be available at Deai Dome and Fureai Dome.
- (2)Valuable items should be left at the designated valuables desk.
- (3)The organizer does not bear any responsibility for loss or theft.

Practice Area
- (1)Invited athletes may use the subsidiary stadium for practice or warming up.
- (2)It is highly restricted to practice or warm-up on the course route or other road.
Roll-Call/ Start
- (1)Participants must be present at the designated starting point and line up from 8:00 to 8:45.
- (2)The starting points are classified by initial characters of A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K on number bib, which will be shown on signboards and large display panels. Make sure to assemble for the race at the designated block and follow any instructions given by the officials in charge. Those who arrive at the starting point later than 8:45 must start from the last available block.
- (3)Those who arrive at the starting point later than at 9:05 cannot participate in the race.(It is not allowed to start a half marathon later than 9:20, which is 5minutes before the 3-km race starts.)

Signboards
- (1)For half marathon, kilometer markers will line the course at every 1kilometer, and the last 3, 2 and 1kilometer until the finish line.
- (2)Signboards for water stations, and AED will be set on the route.
Check Points/ Time Limits
- (1)Athletes who fail to pass a Check Point before it closes must drop out of the race and follow instructions given by the officials in charge.
- (2)Athletes who fail to reach a Check Point before the time listed below must drop out of the race and quickly move out of the course to sidewalks. Athletes who fail to reach a Check Point and drop out of the race should get on a sweep bus and return their timing chips to the officials in charge.

Disqualification/ Drop Out
- (1)During the race, athletes are not to accept any form of help whatsoever from anyone. First Division athletes must not accept food or drinks at any point other than the water stations.
- (2)Having a pacemaker or any other support is not allowed.
- (3)In the case when a participant receives treatment from the doctor for injuries or illnesses, he or she must follow the doctor’s instruction on whether or not continuing the race.
- (4)In the case when a participant has a difficulty in continuing the race, he or she must inform the race officials nearby and seek for instructions.
- (5)In the case when a participant must retire the race, he or she should report the event officials. Do not leave the race without notice.
- (6)Transfer of rights to participate in the race is strictly prohibited. If the organizer discovers a misconduct of these acts, the entry will be immediately forfeit.
- (7)In the case when a participant discontinues the race due to disqualification or drop out, he or she must return his or her timing chip to a Check Point or any nearest official in charge.
Medical Aid
- (1)As for accidents that occur during the race, only first-aid will be given. The compensation for accidents or illnesses that occur during the race will be limited to the insurance coverage that the organizer will carry.
- (2)Ambulances will be stationed at the rear of the race.
- (3)There will be six aid stations in the Nagaragawa stadium and on the Half Marathon route.
- (4)Aid volunteers with AED will be on the route at every one kilometer.
- (5)Bicycle staff with AED (Team Bicycle AED) will patrol the course route.
- (6)Heart Support Runners, who have received emergency first-aid trainings, will participate in the race wearing orange bibs.
- (7)In order to prevent dehydration, make sure to stay hydrated before and during the race.
Water Stations
- (1)For the Half Marathon, drinks are available at the nine water stations along the route and one water station at the start area the finish area.
- (2)Snacks are available at the second water station(8km) and the sixth water station(16km), and sponges are available at the eighth water station (18.3km).
- (3)Tables for personal bottles.
①Invited athletes can have their personal bottles of fluid prepared on the tables at water stations at 5km, 10km and 15km. ②The athletes must submit their personal bottles at the entrance lobby of the Gifu Memorial Center Nagaragawa Stadium from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on April 23 (Sun.). Bottles will not be accepted at other times. The athletes must follow the instructions about bottles. ●Each of the athletes must prepare his/her own bottle. The organizer will not prepare any bottles. ●The athletes must not use bottles made of fragile material such as glass. ●There is no rule about bottle shape. However, the athletes need to use a bottle whose total height is up to 35cm and that does not fall easily. ●The bottle must be distinguishable from other bottles. ●The athletes must prepare a bottle without an exposed metal part such as a wire protruding from it so that they can receive it safely. ③The athletes must write the following necessary information on a sticker provided by the organizer using an oil-based pen before labeling a bottle. ● Water station (km) where the athlete wants to receive the bottle, and the athlete’s number and name ④The athletes must write the contents of the bottle (information to ensure a doping material is not contained) on the designated sheet and attach it to the bottle. ⑤The athletes must put a mark on the bottle to make it distinguishable from others. They need to make sure that the total height is up to 35cm and avoid using any mark that would make the bottle unstable or one that is easily removed from the bottle. They must also remove any hazard such as a wire protruding from the mark.
Award/ Certificate of Completion, Participation and Record
- (1)The top eight male and female athletes in each Division will be awarded. For an award ceremony, those who qualify for the award must be presentat the time and place designated by the officials in charge.
- (2)The top male and female athletes in each age group(teens to twenties; thirties; forties; fifties; and sixties) will be awarded in 10divisionsin total. Certificates will be mailed to those who qualify for the award by age group.
- (3)Commemorative gifts will be distributed to all the participants.
- (4)JAAF registered athletes may receive an official certificate upon requestfor a fee of 500yen. Application needs to be made at the designated area on the day of the race.(The certificate will be mailed at a laterdate.)
Other
- (1)Cancellation of the race on the event day will be determined by 5amand be notified on the official website as well as by Interactive VoiceResponse(0180-99-3838).
- (2)Loss of timing chips will result in a finishing time not being recorded.
- (3)In case of a disaster, the event may be scaled-down or cancelled.
- (4)In case of an emergency, such as accidents or fire, emergency vehicles must be allowed to pass ahead of runners. Follow the instructions of the police, ambulance, fire fighters, or race officials.
- (5)The publicity rights and portrait rights to post videos, photographs, articles, or recordings and other information related to the race to all TV, newspaper, magazine, or the Internet, shall belong to the organizer.
- (6)Banners or placards with claims, declarations or advertisements are prohibited. Regarding costumes, runners should dress in a sensible and courteous manner as this is a marathon to be held by closing the streets and regulating traffic.
- (7)Any conduct in violation of the official rules and instructions may lead to disqualification and a forfeit of the entry fee.
